Denisha "Nisha" Cook was raised in the Great Lakes state of Michigan. From her primary through high school educational years, Denisha has had "official" and "not so official" labels applied to her.

Through a process of self-discovery she decided not to let the labels define her and took her power back. Her books are an inspiration to all that being "different" is good!
